Corporate Responsibility (CR) at BAE Systems is fully aligned with our efforts to deliver our key business objectives. All aspects of our business are required to demonstrate performance and value, and the delivery of our CR agenda is no exception.
We are proud of the role we play as one of the leaders in the defence sector and as part of this we recognise our specific responsibility to understand the concerns of others. We aim through our reporting to provide information and demonstrate through our performance that BAE Systems is both a responsible corporate citizen and a responsible defence company.
Charity Challenge
Charity Challenge is our key vehicle for charitable giving. Our employees' involvement in Charity Challenge is a great example of a culture that supports people and communities.
Charity Challenge is the company program that encourages employees to participate in both fundraising and hands-on volunteer work for all charities.
The program is a balance between volunteer time and company support and provides employees with the opportunity to make a significant difference for our local communities across the world while helping to develop our greatest strength - people.
Through Charity Challenge, BAE Systems employees have raised more than AUD$300,000 for national and local charities since its inception in Australia in 2001.
Partner Charity
As part of the Charity Challenge program, BAE Systems Australia employees select a charity to support in fundraising and volunteering efforts for an 18-month campaign. The partner charity during this campaign is the Leukaemia Foundation of Australia.
Established in Queensland in 1975, the Leukaemia Foundation is the only national organisation dedicated to the care and cure of patients and families living with leukaemias, lymphomas, myeloma and related blood disorders. For more information, visit www.leukaemia.org.au
