Platform Solutions serves the aerospace and defense community with capabilities and products that improve operational safety and enhance mission effectiveness.
This division supports a wide range of military and commercial platforms – including fixed-wing and rotary-wing aircraft, ground vehicles and unmanned vehicles—with capabilities in vehicle management, human-machine interface, precision guidance and power systems. Platform Solutions designs and produces fly-by-wire flight controls; full-authority digital engine controls; cockpit, head-up and helmet-mounted displays; autopilots, pilot stocks and inceptors; unmanned air vehicles; hybrid electric propulsion systems; vehicle power management systems; data distribution and flight-deck systems; and inertial sensors.
Platform Solutions also is developing integrated capabilities for all-weather operation, power management, real time cockpit information, prognostics and health management and air traffic management.
Platform Solutions has four business areas:
- Commercial Avionics - displays, flight controls and other aircraft systems.
- Defense Avionics - displays, flight controls and other aircraft systems.
- Inertial Products - inertial sensors and measurement units.
- Vehicle Systems - electronic aircraft engine controls, power management systems and hybrid electric vehicle propulsion systems.
