Rapidly growing Club Air S.p.a of Italy has added another BAe 146-200 to its fleet in a lease transaction with BAE Systems Regional Aircraft. The Series 200 (E2220) is due to be delivered during December to bring its BAe 146 fleet to five aircraft.
The airline is undergoing a rapid phase of expansion as it seeks to develop further links between Italian regional airports and destinations in South Eastern Europe. Expansion westwards is planned with new routes shortly to be introduced from Bari, Parma and Verona to Brussels and from Bari to Paris.
Commencing operations in November 2002 from its Verona base with two BAe 146-200s, Club Air expanded further in the summer of this year with two additional Series 200s leased from Regional Aircraft. Currently it operates 85 weekly flights and carries over 200,000 passengers a year.
From Verona, Club Air flies to Bucharest, Timisoara, Orad, Cluj and Bacau in Romania as well as to Kishinev in Moldova.
Serving the needs of both Italian business traffic and emerging tourism requirements, Club Air also flies from Ancona, Bologna, Bari and Florence to a number of Romanian destinations as well as from Bari and Florence to Tirana, Albania.
Club Air also is also growing its ad hoc summer charter business.
