BAE SYSTEMS Joins The PMI Corporate Council

LONDON and WASHINGTON -- BAE Systems has joined the Project Management Institutes (PMI) Corporate Council, having successfully fulfilled PMIs membership criteria. PMI is a world leading authority for the project management profession. It sets industry standards, conducts research, and provides professional opportunities for practitioners.

As a Corporate Council partner, BAE Systems will serve as a valuable resource for PMI by providing knowledge and insight into organizational level project management needs in the changing global economy. BAE Systems joins the U.S. Department of Defense, PriceWaterhouseCoopers, IBM and Lockheed Martin, as members of PMI, advancing the profession by increasing recognition of project managements strategic and tactical importance.

Three years ago, BAE Systems established a Corporate Project Management Council (CPMC), responsible for governance, policy and overall enterprise strategy for the project management function in terms of both people and process. The Council delivers more effective project management leading to increased customer satisfaction, improved margins and advancement of the project management profession. The CPMC promotes consistent processes and provides focused leadership across the company.
