BAE Systems Ranks Among 100 Best Places to Work in Information Technology

27 Jun 2006 | Ref. 160/2006

MCLEAN, Va. – BAE Systems has been named by IDG Computerworld as one of the Computerworld Best Places to Work in IT for 2006.  Annual selection of the top 100 is based on excellence and quality of work environment.

“BAE Systems has a long history of commitment to our employees as well as to our customers,” said Bill Shernit, president, BAE Systems Information Technology.  “We are very pleased to have been named to Computerworld’s list of Best Places to Work.  Our strong emphasis on delighting our customers is equaled only by the importance we place on a culture and working environment that attracts and retains the best people.”

The Best Places to Work list is an annual ranking of the top 100 work environments for technology professionals.  The lists are compiled based on a comprehensive questionnaire regarding company offerings in categories such as benefits, diversity, career development, training and retention. Computerworld conducts extensive surveys of IT workers, and their responses factor heavily in determining the rankings.

“The recipients of this year’s Best Places to Work represent a diversity of industries from technology to finance to pharmaceuticals,” said Don Tennant, editor in chief, Computerworld. “However, each organization is united by a common theme—they embrace the value of IT talent within the workplace and the impressive contributions that these professionals make on a daily basis.”

The Best Places to Work feature appeared in the June 19 issue of Computerworld and online at www.computerworld.com/2006bestplaces.
