Fareham, United Kingdom. - BAE Systems is helping the UK Ministry of Defence link together a wide range of networked systems at a cutting-edge “battlelab” event in June. Increasingly military advantage comes from this ability to link together information from a wide range of systems and sensors.
BAE Systems will be systems integrator at the Coalition Warrior Interoperability Demonstration (CWID) 2007 for the second year, linking intelligence, surveillance, target acquisition and reconnaissance (ISTAR) systems from some 20 companies.
The three-week event is running from 4-22 June and will be held at the Joint Command and Battle Management Laboratory at the Defence Science and Technology Laboratory (Dstl), Portsdown West, Fareham. This international event will give the MoD the opportunity to work closely with representatives from industry, and give defence companies the opportunity to trial new technology in a realistic, real-time environment with existing systems.

In addition to the ISTAR Integrator role, Insyte is leading three pan- BAE Systems demonstrations comprising FALCON and end-to-end ISTAR both on land and afloat which will provide an improved, high capacity and secure information infrastructure.
Guy Griffiths concludes: “These demonstrations will show how BAE Systems, using both its UK and US capabilities, can successfully demonstrate the ability to efficiently manage the ISTAR Direct, Collect, Process and Disseminate (DCPD) process, showing a route towards improved and coherent information management.
“By interfacing with the wider networked battlespace, BAE Systems demonstrates improved interoperability with both current inventory and future equipments to provide complete network-centric capability.”
