Contaminated Land Strategy

The UK Contaminated Land Regime was brought into force on the 1st April 2000. As part of the implementation of the regime, the Minister for the Environment, Michael Meacher, requested that each of the FTSE 100 companies prepare a Corporate Contaminated Land Strategy. BAE Systems Environmental has the added responsibility of managing the BAE Systems Corporate Contaminated Land Strategy.

BAE Systems is committed to collecting and managing all information relating to potential contaminated land issues on its properties and where necessary, prioritise areas of contaminated land for remedial action in much the same way as the Local Authorities of England, Scotland & Wales.
